From the Author
Writing Joe's remarkable story has been one of the greatest privileges of my life. Since its release, I have been hearing from readers around the world, telling me of the profound impact this story has had on them. A German police officer told me that after reading Joe's story, he has vowed to commit his life to do whatever he can to keep such things from happening again. A woman in New Zealand wrote to tell me that after learning about what Joe overcame, and how he found a way to go on living in joy, that she realized she could face whatever it was that was so troubling her. To me, such tributes are the continuation of the miracle of Joe's story. His journey of hope, faith and love will continue to live on forever in the lives of those who read about his life.  Joe tells me every time I see him, "Please, tell everyone, 'Life is precious! It's God's greatest gift to us. We must all love God, love life, and one another. That's all there is.'" At age 95, he says it with more conviction than ever, for Joe has seen what happens when the world forgets these precious sentiments.Through this one man's story, we are given a tremendous gift, a glimpse at the heart and soul of one precious family. A glimpse of humanity behind the dry statistics of the millions of lives lost during WWII. Auschwitz 34207 is a story of love. Now more than ever, it is a story the world needs to hear.

Unbelievable story of faith and survival!
By Clara
What an amazing story of faith and survival! As I read it, I felt as if Joe Rubinstein was sharing his experiences with me. I was drawn in from the first knock at the door. I am amazed at, and inspired by, his spirit and strength of character, which are revealed time and time again. He manages to hold on to hope as a prisoner in Auschwitz, one the most horrific places on earth, during the Holocaust, one of the darkest periods in history. What an incredible journey! He chooses love and joy rather over hatred and bitterness as he moves forward with his life at the end of the war. Nancy Sprowell Geise writes in a natural style, seamlessly incorporating minute personal and historical details as she reveals his story. This is a must-read for adults and young people as well! In addition to relating a riveting story from a rare point of view, a map, photographs, a timeline, glossary, notes and questions for reflection and discussion make it an excellent educational tool.

The Joe Rubinstein Story
By Sylvia Taylor
Heartbreaking, but very well written/narrated. No matter how many survivor books I read I still can't understand how these people endured the horrors of their imprisonment and managed to go forward with their lives. I often ask myself if I would have had even an ounce of the courage these people had.

Like a "Phoenix" rising out of the Ashes!!!!
By Kindle Customer
What a great read! Nancy Geise did a tremendous job researching (and, corraborating) the story of Mr. Rubinstein's story. Mr. Rubinstein's faith, courage, "luck" (or God's intervention?), and honest self-reflection was extremely refreshing. The book had little or no editing issues, and was very clearly written. The author's imaginative chaptering of Mr. Rubinstein's story made it flow effortlessly and kept the book a page turner. No matter what the reader's religious, or non-religious, beliefs, this is one book that was worth the price of the purchase. A must read…lest we forget!!!
